In recent times there have been an almost countless number of revelations concerning the Immaculate Heart of Mary. What are perhaps the most detailed of these are the revelations made to Bertha Petit. Of the remaining Immaculate Heart revelations of contemporary times we have chosen for your consideration the following 36, all of which have received ecclesiastical approval:
what can we learn from st. catherine laboure about the importance of devotion to the immaculate heart?
1) The reverse side of the medal of the Immaculate Conception (the Miraculous Medal) which Our Lady showed to St. Catherine Laboure in her apparitions at Paris in 1830 represents the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
2) When St. Catherine Laboure was ordered by her spiritual director to ask the Blessed Virgin Mary what words should be inscribed on the reverse side of the medal, Our Lady answered that no words were necessary, that the union of the two Hearts tells everything.
3) Our Lady later said to St. Catherine Laboure: “All those who wear this medal will receive many graces.” Therefore we are told that just wearing a simple image of her Immaculate Heart will bring us great graces.
4) In the Church of Our Lady of Victories, Paris, France, on Sunday, December 3, 1836, a revelation to the pastor, Father Charles des Gennettes, said, “Consecrate your parish to the Most Holy and Immaculate Heart of Mary.” Since that consecration, over 90,000 people have left thank-offerings in that one church for cures effected through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
5) In March 1855, the statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the same Church of Our Lady of Victories twice became lifelike and moved.
6) In her convent in Paris, Sister Justine Bisqueyburu received the five apparitions from Our Lady during the first eight months of the year 1840. All were revelations of the Immaculate Heart. In each apparition Our Lady was holding her Heart in her hands, with brilliant rays issuing from the top of the Heart. It was revealed to Sister Justine that these rays signified the rich graces obtainable from devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

7) On September 8, 1840, in Blangy, France, Our Lady gave to the same Sister Justine the first of the great apparitions of what is popularly known as the Green Scapular, but which is actually the “Badge of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.” On one side of this badge is the image of Our Lady holding her Heart in her hand; on the reverse side is “the Immaculate Heart all ablaze with rays more dazzling than the sun and transparent as crystal.” The inscription around the image reads, “Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.”
8) On Christmas Eve of 1841, on the banks of the Bitterroot River in Montana, the Immaculate Conception appeared to an Indian orphan boy named Paul of the Flathead tribe.
This boy knew nothing of the apparitions in Europe, and had probably never even heard the phrase “Immaculate Heart,” yet he said of the apparition, “From her Heart there came forth rays of light towards me.”
9) In Rome, on January 20th, 1842, the tremendous power of the image of Immaculate Heart of Mary was demonstrated by Our Lady’s apparition to the agnostic Jew, Alphonse Ratisbonne, and his consequent conversion.
10) In his first apparition, in 1916, the Angel of Portugal said, “The holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive to the voice of your supplications.”
11) In his third and last apparition, the Angel of Portugal taught a prayer to the three children which included these words: “…through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg Thee for the conversion of poor sinners.”
12) On May 13, 1917, Our Lady asked the children of Fatima: “Are you willing to offer yourselves to God to endure all the sufferings that He may be pleased to send you, to make reparation for blasphemies, as well as all the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and for the conversion of sinners?” [Some translations say: “…to endure all the sufferings that He may be pleased to send you, both as an act of reparation for the sins with which He is offended and of supplication for the conversion of sinners?”]
What revelations did Our Lady give to the Fatima children in June 1917?
13) In her apparition on June 13, 1917, Our Lady gave the Fatima children six distinct Immaculate Heart revelations:
“Jesus wishes,” she said, “to establish throughout the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.” This is obviously one of the most important revelations of modern times.
14) “Jesus will use you,” Our Lady said to Lucia, “to make my Immaculate Heart better known and loved.”
15) Later she said: “My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.”
16) The children saw, near the elevated right hand of Our Lady, her Immaculate Heart surrounded with thorns.
17) The children received an interior revelation that the Immaculate Heart of Mary is wounded by the sins of the world and that she was asking for penance and reparation.
18) An ardent love for the Immaculate Heart of Mary was then divinely infused into the souls of the three children.
what did our lady reveal to the fatima children in her July 1917 appearance?
19) In the Fatima apparition of July 13, 1917, there are eight Immaculate Heart of Mary revelations. Following are the eight in the exact words of Our Lady herself:
“Only the intercession of my Immaculate Heart can bring about the end of the war.”
20) When you make a sacrifice, say “O my Jesus, it is for love of Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and for the conversion of poor sinners.”
21) “To save souls from hell, Our Lord wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.”
22) “I will come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart.”
23) “I will come to ask for the Communion of reparation to my Immaculate Heart on the First Saturdays.”
24) “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.”
25) “Russia will be converted through my Immaculate Heart.”
26) “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.”
27) On December 10, 1925, Our Lady, holding the Divine Infant in her arms, appeared to Lucia. Her Immaculate Heart was visible and surrounded with thorns. The Divine Child, pointing to His Mother’s Heart, said,” ‘Have compassion on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce It at every moment, and there is no one to make an act of reparation to remove them.’
28) During the same apparition, Our Lady said: “Look, my daughter at my Heart surrounded by thorns with which ungrateful men pierce me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You, at least, try to console me.”
29) Then Our Lady pronounced her “Great Promise of Fatima,” whereby she assured eternal salvation to those who make the Five First Saturdays of reparation to her Immaculate Heart.
30) On February 15, 1926, Our Divine Lord appeared to Lucia and told her to spread devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary everywhere throughout the world and not to be discouraged by the difficulties she would encounter.
31) In 1929 Our Lady again appeared to Lucia at the Dorothean novitiate at Tuy, Spain, and requested the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart.

32) Our Lord revealed to Lucia in 1936 why He would not convert Russia without this consecration Our Lady requested. Christ told her: “Because I want my whole Church to acknowledge that consecration as a triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in order to later extend its cult and to place devotion to this Immaculate Heart alongside devotion to My Sacred Heart.”
33) In the spring of 1943, Our Divine Lord appeared to Lucia and told her that He was pleased at the consecration of the human race to the Immaculate Heart of His Holy Mother. “Because of this,” He said, “I will bring about the end of the war.”
34) On December 30, 1932, the five seers of Beauraing saw the Immaculate Heart of Mary so brilliant with golden light that Our Lady of Beauraing has since been known as the “Virgin of the Heart of Gold.”
35) On January 15, 1933, at the exact moment Our Lady was appearing in his diocese at Banneux, the bishop of Liege was consecrating his diocese to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This apparition seems to show Heaven’s approval of his devotion to the Immaculate Heart.
36) On August 29, 1953, a plaster plaque representing the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Syracuse, Sicily, began shedding tears profusely and continued to do so until September 1.
